The Sikh army officer who was born in British Preet Chandi had made history by becoming the first “color woman” to complement the solo expedition to the South Pole. MS Chandi’s adventure began in November last year, when he began his journey not supported from the Hercules Inlet Antarctica, CNN reported. He spent several weeks skiing Solo in Antarctica and announced on January 3 that he had completed a 700 mile track (1126 km) in 40 days.
“I managed to get to the South Pole where snow fell,” Ms Chandi announced on his blog. “Feeling so much emotion now … it feels so real to finally be here,” the 32-year-old player, who had adopted Moniker “Preet Polar”, added.
“Antarctica is the coldest, highest, least dry continent and sunbathing on earth. No one lives there permanently. I don’t know much about the continent when I first started planning and that’s what inspired me to go there,” said MS Chandi before. . He spent two and a half years preparing his South Pole adventure, including CREVASSE training in the French Alps and Trekking in Iceland.
During his Antarctic expedition, British Army officers from India transported pulks or sledts that weighed almost 90 kg and held the kit, fuel, and food.
The Head of the British Army General Staff congratulated MS Chandi at the completion of his trip, praising him as “an inspirational example of grit and determination”.
“This expedition is always about me. I want to encourage people to push their boundaries and to believe in themselves,” he announced on his blog after finishing a trip to the South Pole. “I don’t want to break the glass ceiling, I want to destroy it to be a million pieces.”
