Shia LaBeouf Is the Latest Man to Rock Heels

The men in heels movement is taking over Hollywood. Actors are ditching their dress shoes on the red carpet in favor of styles with a slight lift: Jared Leto, Xavier Dolan, and Cody Fern have all been spotted in cuban-heeled boots and oxfords this year, among plenty of others. There’s also been a surge of men’s-only heel brands on the market as a result, such as Roker and Syro, both of which specialize in heightened styles that strike the perfect balance of dressy and flamboyant. Now, there’s a new star who’s on board with the daring fashion look: Shia LaBeouf.

Yesterday, the actor attended the premiere of his new film Honey Boy in London, England, where he debuted his take on the heeled footwear trend: he slipped on Gucci’s heeled loafers, which came with a square toe, horsebit clasp, and the Italian label’s signature green and red stripe detail. The ’70s inspired, retro-chic shoes are the perfect heel height for dipping one’s toe into the trend without being as intimidating as, say, a full-on heel. LaBeouf’s styling gave the accessory a dapper feel, too: he wore the loafers with a double-breasted Givenchy suit in cream, the blazer slightly long in fit, a proportion that feels fresh and new. Underneath the jacket, his simple white tee also peeked out, giving the whole thing a casual feel that seemed to say, yeah, I’m wearing heels—what about it?
