In the case of dirty medical negligence, the staff of the Rural Health Center (RHC) in Sindh Pakistan Province decided on a newborn baby’s head and left him in the mother’s womb, leaving a 32-year-old Hindu woman in a threatening situation.

The tragic incident encouraged the Sindh government to form a medical investigation council to reach the basis of the incident and track the culprit.

“Hindu Bheel women, who are members of the village far in the Tharparkar district, first went to the rural health center (RHC) in their area but without the available female gynecologists, inexperienced staff caused extraordinary trauma,” said Professor Raheel Sikander, which heads the Gynecology Unit of Liaquat University, Medical and Health University (Lumhs) in Jamshoro.

The RHC staff cut the newborn’s head in the mother’s womb and left it in it in a failure operation on Sunday, he said.

When the woman faced a life -threatening situation, she was rushed to the nearest hospital in Mithi where there were no facilities to care for her. Finally, his family took him to Lumhs where the rest of the newborn’s body was removed from the mother’s womb, saving his life, he said.

Sikandar said the baby’s head was trapped inside and the mother’s womb had broken and they had to open her stomach with surgery and take their heads to save her life.

The horrific blunder encouraged Sindh’s Director General of Health Services, Dr. Juman Bahoto, to order separate questions into this case.

He said the investigation committee would find out what was happening, especially the absence of a gynecologist and female staff at RHC in Chachro.

The Investigation Committee will also look into the report that the woman must undergo a video trauma when lying on a stretcher.

Apparently, some staff members took photos on a cellphone in the Gynecology Ward and shared the photos with various WhatsApp groups,” added Juman.
