Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said that the country “went down to the Banana Republic” in the midst of the arrest of Pakistani Tehreek-E-E-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill with accusation of priority. Khan, who heads PTI, also called Gill’s arrest as a “conspiracy” to target him, and his party colleagues.
On Twitter, Imran Khan shared a 22 -second Gill clip and wrote: “Down to the Banana Republic. Civilized world will be surprised by our barbarism level. The worst part is an easy target to have been chosen to make examples through torture & without a fair trial. “Khan further accused Nawaz Sharif of his PML-N from his daughter, his daughter Maryam, Jui-F Head Maulana Fazlur Rehman and PPP leader Asif Zardari for targeting state institutions ‘in the worst manner’ from ‘a reprimand’
Shehbaz Gill, an aide near Imran Khan, was arrested last week in Islamabad for allegedly making a controversial statement against Pakistani troops on private TV channels, local media outlets Geonews reported. He was finally ordered on charges of incitement and inciteable members of state institutions against the Pakistani army. The day before, he was returned in a two -day detention of the Islamic Police.
